Visa requirements for Taiwanese citizens
Visa requirements for Taiwan (ROC) passport holders are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on Republic of China nationals who hold Household registration, and thus right of abode in Taiwan.,〔(內政部入出國及移民署全球資訊網 ). In the case they hold the household registration, they are entitled to a ROC ID Card and the number of that card is printed in the passport. Several countries and territories have more favorable visa regimes for those holding passports with this identity card number. Unregistered nationals who use the Taiwan passport to enter Taiwan require an entry permit and are subject to immigration controls. This article deals with holders of Taiwan passport containing an identity card number.
According to the Henley Visa Restrictions Index, Taiwanese Citizens have visa free or visa on arrival access to 129 countries and territories, ranking the Taiwanese Passport 28th in the world (tied with Seychelles and Venezuela).
